Formative assessment is important because it helps the teacher to monitor and assess the student learning through the semester. Formative assessment helps the teachers to identify the strength and the weakness for the students. It also helps the teachers to learn the best ways they can use to teach the students.

 

"Formative assessment is used before instruction, to find out where students are, and during instruction, to find out how they are progressing"(Brookhart, 2010). 

 

During my teaching practice, I have completed nine formative assessment to help me see the students understanding before, during or after the lesson.
